Before you write

If you are testing a build, include your iPhone model, iOS version, app version (at the bottom of app settings), what you expected, and what happened. Please avoid sending identifiable captures or other private information unless necessary.

Getting started

The app is coming soon, only for iPhone. The current build targets iOS 17 or later. When available, grant Camera access to capture. Microphone permission adds sound to video; Photos add-only permission lets you save captures.

There is no account to create, sign into, or delete. The website’s demo is an illustration, not a web version of the camera.

Camera or microphone not working?

Open iPhone Settings, find Sensible Camera, and review Camera and Microphone permissions. Return to the app after changing them. Video can be recorded silently if microphone access is denied. Calls, other camera apps, low storage, or system interruptions can pause capture.

A face was missed or the wrong subject stayed visible

Improve lighting, move closer, reduce motion, and review the saved result. Detection and position-based tracking have limits. Choose Cover everyone to remove the visible-subject exception. If someone should not appear in your recording, reframe or do not share that capture.

The effects do not hide identifying voices, clothing, or surroundings. They are not a substitute for consent.

How do I use emoji and Crowd stories?

Open the privacy/effect settings in the camera toolbar. Choose Emoji, then pick a character or enable Crowd stories. Playful motion adds gentle movement and occasional decorative accents. These are not expression-matched avatars or judgments about anyone’s emotions.

Cover everyone includes your own detected face and prevents focus taps from revealing a subject.

How does the front light work?

On the front camera, tap the bolt. A translucent white screen light lets you see the preview while adding illumination. Adjust intensity in settings. Screen brightness restores when light is disabled, the camera is left, or a sheet is opened. The white interface layer is not baked into your saved capture.

Can I use a volume button?

Enable Hardware shutter in settings. In Photo mode, a volume-button release or supported Camera Control press takes a photo, using the same timer as the on-screen shutter. This requires iOS 17.2 or later; Camera Control also requires compatible hardware.

The interaction turns off while saving, counting down, showing settings, or in Video mode. This implementation does not launch the app from the Lock Screen or add sliding/half-press Camera Control settings.

Where did my capture go?

Successful saves appear in Photos. The app’s thumbnail opens the latest capture for sharing. If Photos permission is denied, use the available latest capture to share or enable permission and take another capture. Temporary video files can be reclaimed by iOS, so save anything you want to keep.

Delete saved captures in Photos, including Recently Deleted where appropriate. Removing the app does not delete captures already in Photos or shared elsewhere.
